James Hanson speaks to political commentator Jonathan Lis about Donald Trump's 'unhinged' proposal to impose 25% tariffs on countries that do not support his plan to take over Greenland.
Posting on his Truth Social on Saturday, the US president said 10 per cent tariffs would come into effect on February 1 - affecting Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands and Finland.
Those tariffs will then increase to 25 per cent on June 1 until a deal to purchase Greenland is reached.
Keir Starmer has condemned the threat as 'completely wrong', adding that Greenland is 'part of the Kingdom of Denmark and its future is a matter for the Greenlanders and the Danes.'
Jonathan Lis calls the threat a 'naked act of coercion, bullying and blackmail', resulting from the fact that Trump 'can't take no for an answer'.
Lis also adds that the US and UK are at risk of entering into an 'economic war' if the tariffs are raised from 10% to 25%
