Mufti Qaiser Farooq, one of the close associates of Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed, was shot dead in Karachi. Farooq was gunned down by unknown men on the streets of Karachi. Farooq suffered bullet wounds in the back and was shifted to a hospital, where he died during treatment. Pakistan's Dawn newspaper reported that Farooq was shot in a "targeted attack" near a religious institution in the Samanabad area on Saturday.
