Namaz- Updated
How to perform Salah:
Fajr.
This salah consists of:
2 sunnah
2 fard
2 sunnah
1. You need a clean place, facing the direction of Ka'bah
2. Say your niyyah (intention)
3. Raise your hands upto your:
a) ears- for men
b) sholders- for girls and women
Say Allahu Akbar
This is Takbiratul Ihram- all worldly things are now forbidden to you, you must concentrate on your salah
4. men: place your hands just below their naval or on the chest and recite Thana.
women: place their hands on their chest and recite Thana.
5. Recite Surah Fatihah
6. Follow this with any surah or verses from the Qur'an
(I read: Qul huwallahu ahad Ahhahus samad lam yalid walam yulad walamm yakul lahu kufuwah ahad)
7. Bow down: read Subhana rabbiyal azim three times (this positionis known as the ruku)
8. Stand up from ruku saying: Sami allahu liman hamidah rabbana lakal hamd
9. Move to the position sujad- your forehead nose pams of both hands knees and toes should be touching the floor. Say Subhana rabbiyal a'la three times, sit upright with your kness bent and plams palced on them say Allah akbar and return to sujad.
Now you move onto your second raakat.
10. stand upright men: place your hands just below their naval or on the chest and recite Surah Fatihah
women: place their hands on their chest and recite surah fatihah.
11. Follow this with any surah or verses from the Qur'an
(I read: Qul huwallahu ahad Ahhahus samad lam yalid walam yulad walamm yakul lahu kufuwah ahad)
12. Bow down: read Subhana rabbiyal azim three times (this positionis known as the ruku)
13. Stand up from ruku saying: Sami allahu liman hamidah rabbana lakal hamd
14. Move to the position sujad. Say Subhana rabbiyal a'la three times, sit upright with your kness bent and plams palced on them say Allah akbar and return to sujad and repeat Subhana rabbiyal a'la three times again.
15. after the second sujad you sit uprigt and recite at- Tashahhud, you then read darud followed by a du'a.
16. Turn your face to your right and say Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah turn your face to the left and say the same words.
2 Fard
Exactly the same, however your niyyah is different.
