The United states house of Representatives just passed a bill that would allow India a special concession to buy missile systems from Russia. While still awaiting the POTUS stamp of approval this law would in turn allow India to continue buying defense systems from Russia without any repercussions. The same US House of Representatives had previously barred Turkey from dealing arms with Russia.
The US strategy for this legislation is to resist the rise of China in the east and all of Uncle Sam's hopes rely on India being in the vanguard against China.
But India's main motive behind strengthening its defense is furthering its illegal stranglehold over Kashmir and depriving the Kashmiri people of their right to freedom. And intimidating anyone (Pakistan) who stands for the Kashmiri people.
India's diplomacy primarily relies on their personal gain coupled with the fact that they do millions of dollars worth of trade with China would go on to prove the US's blind faith in India wrong.
So can India really be a reliable ally for the West?
