Shabana Mahmood holds Ladywood but talks of threats against her
Labour's Shabana Mahmood has held her seat in Ladywood, speaking out about harassment she has received during her campaign in her victory speech.
Mahmood won 15,558 votes, losing 40.5% of her vote share, while Independent Akhmed Yakoob, who also campaigned in the vote for the West Midlands Mayor, received 12,137 votes.
In her speech, Ms Mahmood said people had harassed her and her family, as well as people campaigning for her.
Over the last few decades, Pakistan's minority communities have borne the brunt of mob brutality, bomb attacks, arsons, lynchings and other forms of violence.
