As the Israel-Hamas war entered its eighth day, there seemed no sign of a ceasefire in sight. The fierce battle has killed thousands of people and scores of people have been injured. While Israel is getting ready for the next step in Gaza, it remains engaged at another border. Amid conflict, on October 14, Israeli forces and tanks were deployed to Israel's northern border with Lebanon. Amid this, there have been several reports of tension flaring along the Israeli-Lebanese border, with Israeli forces and Hezbollah exchanging multiple fire. As per the WSJ, the Israeli military on October 13 used a drone to target Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon as tensions at the border intensified. The outbreak of violence came after Hamas launched a deadly attack against Israel, with Israel unleashing a bombing campaign against Gaza. Israeli shelling struck a Lebanese army observation post at border on Oct 13, sources told Reuters, after Israel warned of suspected infiltration. Lebanon's Iran-backed, heavily armed Hezbollah group has said it carried out attacks as a response to attacks by Israel on south Lebanese towns. Lebanese state media reported that shells struck near Alma Al-Shaab and Dhayra, the sites of repeated clashes in the past week. Amid fears of expanding conflict, Israeli forces remain alert at the Lebanon border with latest arms and equipment.
