ISRO Loses Contact With Vikram Lander, Data Being Analysed | Chandrayaan 2 Landing Updates
Anxiety is writ large on the faces of the scientists at the Isro command centre that is tracking Chandrayaan-2's progress. There is still no signal from Chandrayaan-2's lander Vikram.
Chandrayaan-2 was minutes away from landing on the Moon. Chandrayaan-2's Vikram lander has begun its descent on to the lunar surface. India's second mission to the Moon, Chandrayaan-2 will attempt to land near the south pole of the Moon between 1:30 and 2:30 am Saturday. Chandrayaan-2's lander Vikram houses the six-wheeled rover Pragyaan that will explore the lunar surface for around 14 Earth days. The Chandrayaan-2 mission also consists of an orbiter that will revolve around the Moon for around a year. Updates on the Chandrayaan-2 landing are coming in from the Indian Space Research Organisation's headquarters in Bengaluru.
