India v Sri Lanka: Rohit Sharma makes Cricket World Cup history in a seven-wicket victory for India
Rohit Sharma's record fifth century at the World Cup sent India roaring into the semi-finals as group winners, but their seven-wicket victory over Sri Lanka was as notable for events in the sky as those in the ground.
The Indian opener, who surpassed Kumar Sangakkara's mark of four tons at a single tournament, was finally out for 103 from 94 balls in his side's successful pursuit of 265 as he took his tournament tally to 647 runs from just eight innings.
He needs just 27 more from a maximum of two innings to break Sachin Tendulkar's record of 673 runs in one World Cup.
Fellow opener K. L Rahul also passed three figures with a fine knock of 111 as the pair put on 189 for the first wicket.
