ISLAM REJECTS NATIONALISM...CONSIDERED HARAM / FORBIDDEN:

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? WELL, WAVING THE INDIAN OR BRITISH FLAG (or any other flag) AROUND INSTANTLY MAKES YOU A PATRIOT...

THIS IS NOT ALLOWED IN ISLAM.

THE LOOP HOLE HERE IS SIMPLE, THE FLAG MUST REPRESENT ISLAM AND NOT THE COUNTRY:

EXAMPLE:

The flag of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Arabic: علم المملكة العربية السعودية‎) is the flag used by the government of Saudi Arabia since March 15, 1973. Nationalism

Nationalism is an ideology that emphasizes loyalty, devotion, or allegiance to a nation or nation-state and holds that such obligations outweigh other individual or group interests.

Grouping the Muslims on tribalistic lines is clearly forbidden. It is narrated by Abu Da'wud that the Messenger of Allah (saaw) said, "He is not one us who calls for `Asabiyyah, (nationalism/ tribalism) or who fights for `Asabiyyah or who dies for `Asabiyyah."

And in another Hadith, the Messenger of Allah (saaw) referring to nationalism, racism, and patriotism said: "Leave it, it is rotten." [Muslim and Bukhari]

and in the Hadith recorded in Mishkat al-Masabith, the Messenger of Allah (saaw) said, "He who calls for `Asabiyyah is as if he bit his father's genitals"

Also, the Messenger of Allah (saaw) said, narrated by At-Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud, "There are indeed people who boast of their dead ancestors; but in the sight of Allah they are more contemptible than the black beetle that rolls a piece of dung with its nose. Behold, Allah has removed from you the arrogance of the Time of Jahiliyyah (Ignorance) with its boast of ancestral glories. Man is but an Allah-fearing believer or an unfortunate sinner. All people are the children of Adam, and Adam was created out of dust."

Also, the Messenger of Allah (saaw) said, "Undoubtedly Allah has removed from you the pride of arrogance of the age of Jahilliyah (ignorance) and the glorification of ancestors. Now people are of two kinds. Either believers who are aware or transgressors who do wrong. You are all the children of Adam and Adam was made of clay. People should give up their pride in nations because that is a coal from the coals of Hell-fire. If they do not give this up Allah (swt) will consider them lower than the lowly worm which pushes itself through Khara (dung)." [Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi]

The Quran about the term “shi,a”


In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful

The problem of the separation of religion into different branches touched absolutely all religions and beliefs. A similar phenomenon has not bypassed the world of Islam.

The word “shi,a” is associated by most Muslims with “Shiites.” The root of this word is “shaa,a“, which means “to spread, to belong to everyone“. The word “shiya,un” is a plural from the word “shii,atun,” which means “adherents, followers, groups, groupings, sects.”

With the help of the signs, God tests his servants for strength. One of such “checks” is precisely the division of adherents of one ideology.

Say, “He is able to send upon you affliction from above you or from beneath your feet or to confuse you with groupings (shiya,an) and make you taste the violence of one another.” Look how We diversify the signs that they might understand! (6:65)



There is an opinion based on the tradition that the division into different groupings is the mercy of the Most High. However, the Lord expressed a different opinion in the Quran.

Indeed, those who have divided their duty and become groupings (shiya,an) – you are not with them in anything. Their affair is with God, then He will inform them about what they used to do. (6:159)

And do not be of those who associate others with God and of those who have divided their duty and become groupings (shiya,an), every faction rejoicing in what it has. (30:32)
