UK: May urges Pakistan and India to show restraint in Kashmir conflict
UK Prime Minister Theresa May called on Pakistan and India to show restraint to avoid any escalation of conflict in the House of Commons on Wednesday, after both countries claimed to have shot down each other’s planes over Kashmir yesterday.
“The UK is deeply concerned about rising tensions between India and Pakistan and urgently calls for restraint on both sides to avoid further escalation,” May said, adding that the government was “working closely with international partners, including through the UN Security Council to de-escalate tensions.”
