Apps Used by Terror Groups Banned | Communication Crackdown for Terrorists Key? | NewsX
14 instant messaging apps have been banned by the government. These apps were being used by terrorists for communication with terrorists in Pakistan to coordinate terror in Jammu and Kashmir. The apps include Germany based encrypted chat app Crypviser, Enigma, Switzerland based Safeswiss, Amazon Web Services owned Wickr me, US headquartered Mediafire, Briar and Canada based Nandbox. The government had earlier banned several YouTube accounts and over 200 Chinese apps citing security. What's needed further to ensure that these apps which disguise themselves into our app stores are not used for anti national activities.
