Over the past few days, police have intervened forcefully, arrested dozens and assaulted others among pro-Palestinian protesters gathering at the University of Amsterdam.
Students are demanding that the university sever ties with Israel over the war in Gaza and are inspired by ongoing demonstrations at US campuses.
A police bulldozer was used to throw rubble from barricades into a canal near the Binnengasthuis grounds of the University of Amsterdam (UvA).
Entrances to the site were blocked by protesters from multiple sides using pallets and bicycle racks.
The demonstrators were protesting in solidarity with pro-Palestinian students who were previously removed by police during protests at the Roeterseiland campus.
