Speaking in Parliament on Monday, NDP leader Jagmeet Singh expressed disappointment in the Liberal party for blocking a motion to form an India-Canada committee amid alleged foreign interference.
“This is an ongoing trend I've seen with the Liberals. They put up barricade after barricade, block after block to pursue foreign interference,” Singh said.
Singh’s comments come days after the federal government expelled six Indian diplomats on allegations of “a targeted campaign against Canadian citizens by agents linked to the government of India.”
The RCMP said on Monday that it had a significant amount of information on criminal activity orchestrated by agents of the Indian government, who are reportedly leveraging their official position to engage in “clandestine activities,” including homicides, violent threats and intimidation.
