The UK’s House of Lords is set to debate Pakistan’s “Democracy in crisis” on Tuesday, focusing on the ongoing detention of Imran Khan. Despite being granted bail or acquitted in numerous cases, Khan remains behind bars. He claims the charges are politically motivated to keep his party, which won the most seats in this year’s general election, from power.
The debate is being hosted by Labour MP Naz Shah and former Conservative MP Daniel Hannan, now Lord Hannan of Kingsclere.
