		Iohannes Avendehut Hispanus, also called Iohannes Hyspalensis, Johannes Hispanicus, Johannes Toletanus, Avendeuth, Juan Hispano, John of Seville, Juan Sevillano and John the Toledano ( Sevilla , - Toledo , ca. 1180 ) was a philosopher , compiler and translator Spanish .  
 
 It was next to Dominicus Gundissalinus , the principal translator of Arabic to Castilian in the early days of the Toledo School of Translators .  It is known that was judeoconverso but is not completely secure identification between John Hispano (Ibn Dawud) and John of Seville, who many authors consider a different person.  He collaborated with Gundisalvo between 1130 and 1150 , and continued his translations until 1180 , the year of his death.  In the translation process, Juan moved from Arabic into Castilian romance and Gundisalvo, the Castilian to Latin .  
 
 His work translator is extensive, and includes works from various matetias: Astronomy / Astrology 'translated to Masallah , al-Farghani , al-Haiyal , Albumasar ,  al-Kindi , Omar ibn al-Farruhan , Ahmad ibn Yusuf , the -Battani , Thābit ibn Qurra , Alcabitius , etc.  - Philosophy 'translated Pseudoaristóteles , Avicenna , Qusta ibn Luqa , al-Farabi , Ibn Gabirol , al-Ghazali , etc., Algebra and Medicine important -the Book of Healing of Avicenna -.
