Nigel Farage says Reform UK has contacted police after the Green Party stormed to victory in Gorton and Denton.
He said he had concerns about "family voting" - an illegal practice where two voters use one polling booth, raising the possibility of coercion. Manchester City Council earlier said no issues had been reported, and branded it "extremely disappointing" that observers Democracy Volunteers waited until after the close of polls to make the claims.
Reform contacted police after the Greens pulled off a major victory, with Hannah Spencer seeing off Labour's Angeliki Stogia and Reform’s Matt Goodwin in the contest. She won with 14, 980, beating Reform UK on 10,5078 votes, with Labour on just 9,364.
The result is a major blow for Keir Starmer, but the PM came out swinging, vowing he will "fight against extremes in politics" on both the left and the right that threatened to "tear our country apart".
The Greater Manchester seat has been held by Labour for nearly 100 years - who won it in 2024 with a 13,413-strong majority. However, Ms Spencer, a plumber, pulled off a historic upset to shock Labour and Nigel Farage's party.
