India and the European Union sealed a landmark free trade agreement (FTA) on January 27. Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the India-European Union trade agreement as the “mother of all deals". He said that the deal brings “tremendous opportunities" for people in India and Europe and showcases strong coordination between two of the world’s largest economies. The agreement, finalised after prolonged deliberations and last-minute compromises, is expected to influence the trade flows between two of the world’s largest economic entities amid Trump's tariff pressure.
