Sweden Angers Muslims; Allows Quran-Burning Protest On Eid
In a controversial move, Swedish police gave permit to a man planning to burn a Quran near the main mosque in central Stockholm. This after a court in Sweden ruled that the risks associated with the protest "were not of a nature that could justify, under current laws, a decision to reject the request." A similar such demonstration led to a breakdown in negotiations with Turkey about the country’s NATO membership.
