Melania is a 2026 American documentary film co-produced and directed by Brett Ratner. It documents Melania Trump, the first lady of the United States, in the twenty days before her husband Donald Trump's second presidential inauguration.
Development started shortly after the 2024 presidential election and received bids from Amazon, Disney, Netflix, and Paramount Pictures. Amazon's bid of $40 million is the highest price ever paid for a documentary and their bid included a theatrical release and a follow-up docuseries. Melania retained editorial control over the film and was heavily involved in the production. This was Ratner's first film since numerous women accused him of sexual misconduct.
In 2017, numerous women in Hollywood came forward with allegations of sexual assault by Ratner.[9] This resulted in his business deals and prospective film projects getting canceled or scrapped. In December 2024, Ratner started production on Melania, a documentary film co-produced by and starring Melania Trump and released on January 30, 2026 by Amazon MGM Studios. As of November 25, 2025, a fourth Rush Hour film is in development, with Ratner returning to direct
