Radhe Review: Nothing New or Thrilling To See Here- A 2021 Flop Show

Radhe premiered on 13th May 2021 on Zee5 as a premium video on demand under ZeePlex. Directed by Prabhu Deva, the movie is produced by Salman Khan, Sohail Khan, Atul Agnihotri, and Zee Studios starring Salman Khan, Disha Patani, Randeep Hooda, Sudhanshu Pandey, Govind Namdev, and Jackie Shroff alongside other cast members. The film is loosely based on the 2017 Korean drama The Outlaws. Originally scheduled to release theatrically on May 22nd 2020, Radhe was postponed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Same Old Spice!
It is another year and another Eid when Salman Bhai is in front of our screens but with the same storyline. It is almost poetic. Radhe stars Salman Khan as the top-cop Radhe like his other flicks namely Wanted, and the Dabangg franchise, etc. The film brings on-screen a predictable storyline with cringe-worthy sequences and zero meaning. As soon as the movie begins you can draw out similarities in terms of dialogues and acting between Radhe and every other Salman Khan film.

The blue bracelet, the wanting-to-be witty dialogues, action scenes piled up on each other, bad CGI, unwanted item numbers and whatnot. The only thing the film does is try to capitalize on Salman’s star power. I mean, why else would the “Ek baar jo maine commitment kardi” dialogue even repeat itself here. The premise of the movie is simple and small – Mumbai is under drug influence lead by Rana (Randeep Hooda) and somebody needs to save the city from this bad situation and to save the day we have the unaging, witty cop Radhe.

Radhe to me is easily one of the worst Salman Khan films. Yes, it even defeats Race 3. Furthermore, Disha Patani’s character Diya is out of place the entire time. She is only there for small, useless portions and dance sequences that are absurd. Diya is that girl in the film who has no idea whatsoever about what is happening – her character is ignorant and well, annoying. Radhe is nothing less than a chaotic mindless mess. Patani is Khan’s love interest in the film and needless to say nobody needed that.
