Yasir Qadhi & Hijab critiqued by David Wood & Jay Smith

Dr.David Wood and Dr.Jay Smith unpack what has happened over the last 3 weeks, especially with the disastrous interview between Mohammed Hijab and Yasir Qadhi on June 8th, where Dr Qadhi was forced to admit that the thousands of differences in the over 30 different Arabic Qur'ans one can buy today create one of the largest problems for Muslim scholars, one which creates an enormous 'hole' in their narrative concerning the perfect preservation of the Qur'an since its supposed inception 1400 years ago.

Did Hijab hurt the career of Dr. Yasir Qadhi, or will he be able to recover from this embarrassing disaster? To alleviate the damage:

(1) Mohammed Hijab has now deleted the problematic 29 minutes of his interview with Dr.Yasir Qadhi on his Youtube channel, and has stopped all new comments from being posted on just this video.

(2) Dr.Yasir Qadhi (as of Friday) has shut down the comment section for this video on his Youtube channel, suggesting that he is receiving many threats and accusations from the Muslim community for his poor showing, claiming that he will be held responsible for the apostasy of any Muslims who now leave Islam over this material.

(3) Mohammed Hijab has followed suit and shut down any new comments on his video, probably for the same reasons.

(4) In exasperation, Dr.Yasir has tried to file a false copyright claim on people (like Dr.David Woods channel) because he put the video clips of this hopelessly embarrassing interview with Muhammad
Hijab last week.

While this discussion is important and is beginning to create a crack in the edifice of the Qur'an's authority and credibility, it is not the most problematic difficulty facing Muslims and their revelation. The fact that Muslims cannot produce Uthman's Qur'an, or even one of the 4 copies compiled in 652 AD and sent to four cities, and cannot even show us a complete Qur'an by 719 AD, a good 70 after it was supposedly compiled, is even more damaging.

If Allah promised to preserve and guard the Qur'an from corruption (see Surahs 10:15; 15:9; 18:27), then why couldn't he even preserve one copy of it from the century it was supposedly created?

So much for the preservation of the revelation which is foundational for all Muslims everywhere and for every time!
