Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Shikara: The Untold Story of Kashmiri Pandits attracted another controversy on Friday at its screening in Delhi. A woman, belonging to the Kashmiri Pandit community, broke down after watching the film and lashed out at the director for "commercialising the plight of Kashmiri Pandits."

At the special screening, organised by Vidhu Vinod Chopra at a theatre in Connaught Place, Delhi, the Kashmiri Pandit woman broke down and accused the director of commercialising their plight. After the film ended, Chopra came to interact with the audience when the woman started shouting at him. The video of the woman lashing out at the director is going viral.

According to the woman, Shikara doesn't portray the actual suffering of the community including the genocide, mass rapes and mass murders committed by Islamic radical groups. "Ye aapka commercialism aapko mubarak ho (Congratulations on your commercialism). As a Kashmiri Pandit, I disown your film, I disown it," said the woman.

Not just the portrayal of their community, the woman also questioned the director's decision to cast Muslim actors to play the lead roles in the film. She said, "You could have cast Kashmiri Pandit actors, but you chose to take Muslim actors. Why did play this politics?"

She added that Chopra polarised the sufferings of Kashmiri Pandits. To condole the lady, Chopra said that he will work on the sequel to the film. He said, "Truth has two faces. People have different perspectives on the same issues."
