India’s Chandrayaan 2 Moon mission is due to land on the unexplored south pole of the moon. After several weeks of orbiting the moon the spacecraft captured a range of notable lunar landmarks, including the Sommerfeld, Jackson, Mach, Korolev and Mitra craters and the north pole region. India would become only the fourth nation to land on the moon, following the US, USSR and China.
