Families desperate for cannabis oil with a crucial active ingredient are being denied access by the NHS, even where individual specialist doctors wish to prescribe it.
In one case, the mother of a seriously epileptic boy was wrongly told it was illegal for doctors to give her son the medicine she had asked for.
