Asian Clothes

Why oh why do people thing asian clothes automatically equate clothes that represent a muslim woman? Since when does islam permit us to wear tight clothes? Are we really allowed to wear churidars con siding islam specifically states we should be fully covered in LOOSE clothing i.e NOT revealing the shape of our bodies. Also the short/ completely transparent sleeves that are so fashionable in this day and age, yea they are part of our asian culture, but again does't make it islamically acceptable. Then theres the necklines which go ridiculously low! Personally The neckline doesn't bother me too much as when your wearing a hijab it should cover your chest too, but the rest off it really bugs me!

When elders say ooooh you shouldn't wear that, but yet they cannot give you ONE islamically acceptable reason as to why you shouldn't wear it.

The worst thing is some asians have gone to the extreme where the wearing of the hijab is discouraged! How can anyone discourage a woman from dressing islamically? How can you do that and call yourself a muslim? Too many people are trying ti imitate the western culture in a negative way, and its not even about forgetting their roots because I am british I know my roots are in the West I have never even been 'back home' but my first priority is always my religion.

I went shopping for eid clothes today, and it actually broke my heart that I could not find a single outfit in an asain shop for eid that wasn't figure hugging/ see through/ revealing, this in a shop run by muslims. I don't expect everything to be completely modest because at the end off the day a shop is a business and you cater to your customers but it seems to be at the detriment of islamic dress.

I ended up going to town and getting a maxi dress for eid, it's loose, and all i have to do us add a body top under it.....

I really do think we as muslims need to get our priorities straight though....

i agree... But You Know its all in the elders head...when u look at the desi styles.. Mostly girls/womn wear tight n short sleeves Dresses.transparent.n so on..anyway.
their Culture matters more than The Religion...
Anyway, its up to Us to see and Wear the Correct things.

very true @ culture they don't seem to understand culture and religion are two separate things.... was going to a dawaath at my aunties a few weeks ago and was wearing an AX dress my grandma was about to have an aneurism! But i refused to get changed i went home and got into my nighties like nope not going! Your going to go there and all the girls will be wearing asain clothes rather than dressing like muslims and I will not sit quietly and smile :|

Gets verrrrrrrry annoying!!

Have u been shopping for your did clothes yet? Finding asian muslim friendly eid clothes is a very hard task
