FEW VERSES...

"So eat of that [meat] upon which the name of Allah has been mentioned, if you are believers in His verses.
https://quran.com/6/118

"And why should you not eat of that upon which the name of Allah has been mentioned while He has explained in detail to you what He has forbidden you, excepting that to which you are compelled. And indeed do many lead [others] astray through their [own] inclinations without knowledge. Indeed, your Lord - He is most knowing of the transgressors."
https://quran.com/6/119

"And leave what is apparent of sin and what is concealed thereof. Indeed, those who earn [blame for] sin will be recompensed for that which they used to commit."
https://quran.com/6/120

"And do not eat of that upon which the name of Allah has not been mentioned, for indeed, it is grave disobedience. And indeed do the devils inspire their allies [among men] to dispute with you. And if you were to obey them, indeed, you would be associators [of others with Him]."

Majority Hindus don't eat meat. Beef is strictly forbidden... Some Hindus do eat beef ..I have come across some that do..One of my uncles who's an atheist eats beef all the time but not in his house, his family knows..his choice really...
Halal is not an issue for Hindus, preferential choice, really..There's no strict guideline which forbids a Hindu from eating halal
Pork is not an problem for Hindus either..

Practicing Hindus defiantly don't eat beef, many Hindus are vegetarians..
Sikhs don't eat halal...Completely forbidden for Sikhs

REALISTICALLY AS PRACTICING HINDU'S (Sanatani's) ANY KIND OF LIVING CREATURE SHOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED FOOD..
BEEF, PORK , CHICKEN EVEN FISHES SHOULD BE FORBIDDEN..

FEW EXAMPLES...

BEEF IS FORBIDDEN SINCE COWS ARE ASSOCIATED WITH KRISHNA && CONSIDERED HOLY..
VARHARA AVATAR IS ASSOCIATED WITH PIGS / BOARS..
MATSYA AVATAR IS ASSOCIATED WITH FISHES /AQUA LIFE FORMS...
BIRDS ARE ASSOCIATED WITH GARUDA (eagle) AND SKANDA (Kartikeya) WITH PEACOCKS, ROOSTERS /CHICKENS...

THE CONCEPT OF "BEING HINDU" IS NON EXISTENT IF YOU ASK ME, AND BEST LEFT FOR ANOTHER TOPIC...

The 2001 census data showed minority ethnic groups made up 7.9% or 4.6 million of the total UK population, 2% of which lived in Scotland. 59 These groups are concentrated in the four large cities, with almost half being of South Asian origin (from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka) and the next largest community are Chinese people (0.3% of total population). 7 Other groups include; Black Caribbean, Black African or Other Black. 59 In addition the population of people migrating from the European Union countries has been increasing. 58 Other ethnic minority groups may be identified at the local level.

Although there is a more culturally diverse population, it remains predominantly Christian, with other large faith groups encompassing Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, and Jews.

My friend at uni is like that..They cook beef and everything in the flat, when the gora upstairs cooks bacon my downstairs flatmate gets all moody and starts saying "I'm gonna find a new place to live"

He never considers how I feel when he offers me halal products

"Without the Name all, which man wears and eats is poison. By praising the True Name one merges in the True Master." (Guru Nanak, Pauri, pg.144)

In the society of the times meat was avoided by Hindus and certain kinds by the Muslims. The Gurus tried to explain to these people that it was not eating meat was not the real sin but:

Taking anothers right is the real thing to be avoided
"Nanak, another's right is swine for him (the Musalman) and cow for him (the Hindu)." (Guru Nanak, pg. 141)

Falsehood is the real thing to avoid
"By uttering falsehood, man eats meat, Yet, he goes to admonish others. Such appears to be the leader, O' Nanak! who himself is beguiled and beguiles his comrades." (Guru Nanak, Slok, pg. 140)
"Falsehood is my dagger and to eat by defrauding is meat." (Guru Nanak, Sri Rag, pg. 24)

Evil intellect, heartlesness, slander and wrath are the real things to avoid
“Evil-intellect is the she drummer, heartlessness is the butcheress, other’s slander in the heart is a sweepress and deceitful wrath is a pariah-woman” (Guru Nanak, Slok, pg. 91)

Avarice, falsehood, cheatings and slander are the real things to avoid
“Avarice is a dog., falsehood the sweeper and cheating the eating of meat. Slandering others solely amounts to puting other’s filth in ones own mouth and fire of wrath is a pariah.” (Guru Nanak, Sri Rag, pg.15)

Oh I think if I had expressed my view in the muslim community about the gelatine thing
they would have been horrified and told me that I am a sinner!! But you know what?

It is my conversation with God and when I die I shall answer for all the good and bad deeds in this life. I don't see why I have to answer to a Maulvi about how I live my life. I've already been condemned because I don't send my boys to mosque all the other good little muslim boys. But I took a stand and decided it was not in my kids best interests.

I went along to the mosque in question and was horrified to find that the teacher there would hit the boys with tennis balls when they read their lines wrong and also the boys that went there were druggies!! So I went in and took him out of the lesson threatened him that how dare he hit my son when he had just lost his father to cancer!!

So I haven't alot of faith in the preachers at all now. I honestly believe if you want to learn about Islam then don;t listen to a Mauvi, open the Quran and read and you will find the answers. But the English translation I feel the western world can take very literally and twist.
